A young opera singer, medical doctor, and scientist from Berlin, Dr. Clara Batzdorf possesses a voice that has been called truly remarkable and extraordinary. Edda Moser called her voice „world class and destined for the big stages“.

Dr. Batzdorf, born into a family of musicians, began her music career at the early age of four studying the violin. She discovered her passion for the voice in the children’s choir of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin where she participated in many productions on the grand stage, sang her first solo parts, and studied under some of the most important conductors of our time including Daniel Barenboim and Sir Simon Rattle. She won the first prize in the youth competition “Jugend Musiziert”.

As a young adult, Clara Batzdorf joined the youth chamber choir „Junges Consortium Berlin“ with whom she traveled across Europe and won several international competitions. She began her professional vocal education under the guidance of Kammersängerin Jutta Vulpius and Baritone Uwe Griem, himself a student of Edita Gruberova and Montserrat Caballé, and is currently pursuing advanced vocal studies with Donato di Stefano and Dorothea Röschmann.

Clara Batzdorf has demonstrated her vocal artistry across Europe, was awarded the gold prize by the Classical Music Artists Award, and was a semifinalist at the Premier Opera Foundation competition in New York in 2025. She honed her vocal abilities in masterclasses with Edda Moser, Chris Merritt, Jack LiVigni, Mark Schnaible, Nelly Miriciou, Luis Ledesma, Samantha Malk, and Juliane Banse, and has worked with conductors Thomas Guggeis, Felice Venanzoni, Kamal Khan, Fabio Cerroni, Sergey Neller, Julien Salemkour, Klaus Sallmann, and Sergey Rybin. In July 2026 she made her celebrated debut as Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro in Sicily, Italy.

Dr. Batzdorf is fluent in German, French, English, and Italian, studied medicine at the renowned Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and holds a PhD in neuroscience.
